Sausage & Kraut


  • 1lb smoked sausage, cut into 4-inch pieces
  • 1 tsp oleo
  • 1 medium onion, cut into wedges
  • 2 lbs sauerkraut
  • 2 medium apples, cut into wedges
  • 4-6 medium potatoes, cut in half
  • 1 cup apple juice


In a dutch oven, brown sausages on all sides. Add onion, sauerkraut, apples, and potatoes. Top with apple juice, salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer, stirring once, for 30-40 minutes (until potatoes are cooked).
