Pork Chops with Sauerkraut

  • 1 large can sauerkraut
  • ½ lb bacon
  • 4 golden apples, peeled, cored, and cut into half-inch wedges
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • salt, amount unspecified
  • pepper, amount unspecified

Preheat oven to 350F.

Drain sauerkraut. Rinse and squeeze out water. Spread flat in a casserole dish. Set aside.

Fry bacon until crispy, reserving grease. Break up over sauerkraut.

Lay apples in skillet with two tablespoons of bacon grease. Sprinkle with sugar and cook ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Place apples on top of bacon.

Using the same skillet, brown the pork chops. Place pork chops on top of apples. Add wine, salt, and pepper to casserole dish. Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
