Preheat oven to 350F.
Peel and roughly chop potatoes. Boil in salt water until tender.
In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until blended. Gradually add hot potatoes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Spoon potatoes into greased casserole dish and brush surface with softened butter. Bake for 30 minutes, and finish with paprika.
